Yum and I met in 1999 when I was JOJ, 'just off jet' from Hawaii. We met through a friend and became good friends for almost a year until Yum came to her senses. The events leading up to our get together were very cosmic. We were close companions but never romantic until I spent a full week with Yum when her sister came to visit. During that week we were all at Newport Beach at 3am having donuts and coffee after going to a nightclub. Then and there an earthquake hit. The donut owner told us not to move and he darted out of the shop and left us in the store. We saw the glass pane windows wave like saran wrap. We thought we were experiencing post nightclub illusions but it was an earthquake. After the earthquake and Yum's sister leaving we decided it was time to get together. Since then its been getting to know each other more and more and for the most part we are inseparable. We live together in Irvine and are looking forward to her attending law school. Yum is very level headed and none of my antics faze her what so ever. But I do manage to make her laugh from time to time. She is ultimately flexible and goes with the flow which is more than I could ever ask of anyone. I love you Yum.
P.S. I gave Yum her nick name because I lost a challenge to guess how she spelled her name. Pronounced "May" she does not spell it May, Mae, Maj, Mai, Mei, but she spells it Meuy. So in frustration of losing the challenge I reversed her name YUEM and got clever by dropping the E.... YUM. |
